Music and Worship Ministry

Music notes on a sheet
Music Ministry

Sing and play praises to our Lord in our handbell or choral choir. When you join the Music Ministry, you become an integral part of our weekly worship services by bringing a musically uplifting element to our services. We also extend a welcome to all who have vocal or instrumental talents to contribute individually or in ensembles.

Our choirs perform from September through early June with opportunities for small vocal and instrumental solo or group ensembles offered throughout the entire year. Members who do not wish to join the choir program for the entire year may participate in just the Christmas program.

  • Voice
  • Handbells – Anyone who would like to join this group is welcome! This group practices each Wednesday at 2:20 p.m. in the sanctuary. All musical levels are welcome, and we will provide training. Contact Joan for additional information.

Worship Service
  • Communion Assistance
  • Scripture Reader
  • Ushers – Pass out bulletins, take collection, assist with communion, and pick up items left in pew after a service. There’s always a need for more ushers, and we would love your help. Ushers work in teams and serve at each of our Saturday/Sunday sessions. Teams rotate by serving for one month at a time with a two-month break.
  • Altar Guild – The Altar Guild is responsible for the candles and altar paraments, recording the number of people who partake of communion, and the care for and weekly set up of the altar area. Each Saturday throughout seasonal services, two members clean and set up the altar for the first Sunday Communion and reset it for the second Sunday service.

Click here to contact Chuck Wilt for more information.

Hospitality During Service
  • Greeters – Every Sunday morning and special holiday season church services, this dedicated group of members are here to greet and welcome you at the doors. You may have already experienced the smiles and friendliness of these individuals as you enter God’s house to hear God’s Word.
  • Welcome Center – New to Trinity? Stop by our Welcome Center to register and pick up a newcomer welcome badge and envelope for giving. Besides a friendly smile, we give children “kid-friendly” bags full of tricks to help them settle into new surroundings (if we can catch them!), a small stuffed animal, and other goodies made with love from our church members.
Questions about Trinity? This is the place for answers! And if we don’t know the answer, we will find it for you.
The Welcome Center is a place for every Trinity member. Pick up messages and packages, or check the lost and found for your reading glasses. We also have a selection of lovely handmade cloth bags made to attach to your walker for convenience.
While you’re here, scan over the Collection Corner and the nine baskets just waiting for your old and discarded cell phones, pillowcases, eyeglasses, soda can zip tops, coupons, sample size toiletries for soldiers, and fabrics for Trinity’s Scrappy Quilters.
We also have a bevy of books and pamphlets, some free for the taking and some with a price tag. You can also pick up a CD with the day’s sermon.

  • Coffee Hour Host – Each Sunday morning, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee greets members before and between services. Additionally, we enjoy tasty goodies provided by some of our best bakers.
  • Volunteer Responders – Each worship service at Trinity has at least two volunteer responders trained in CPR and basic first aid.
Behind the Scenes
  • Audio/Video (Sound room) – Volunteers are always needed to help run sound, cameras, and PowerPoint/ProPresenter in our sound booth. Training will be available. Contact David Berardi for more information.

Adoration in Motion (AIM)

Join this ministry that has instructional sessions in lyrical/liturgical dance and expressive sign language. You will learn interpretive choreography to several praise and worship songs performed at outreach events throughout the year. You will also learn to biblically express praise, thanksgiving, and joy to God as well as to others. We require ballet or jazz dance shoes for practices. Come visit us on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall to see if this form of ministry is right for you.

Small-Group Bible Ministry

Our Trinity Small Group Ministry known for its Transforming Love Connections (T.L.C.), began the 2019 fall season and we’re pleased to announce that all of our groups were fully operational by the end of October. We praise and thank God for blessing our ministry this season with ten groups who are being led by nine wonderfully trained facilitators serving 117 participants. Meeting twice a month in members’ homes and at Trinity South, groups are sharing in the study of God’s Word, prayer, fellowship, and Christian outreach projects impacting the Villages and surrounding community with the love of Jesus Christ. This season’s study has focused on Rick Warren’s, “40 Days in the Word,” where we expose our participants to a variety of methods for studying God’s Word and growing in the development of their own personal devotional style for spending private time with the Lord. If the reports we are hearing from our leaders is any indication, the amount of spiritual growth taking place through these methods are both challenging and life changing for our people. Where else could you ever learn about S.P.A.C.E.P.E.T.S.? Each group is looking forward to completing their upcoming Micah 6:8 service event as we enter the holiday season.

We praise and thank God for our small group leaders who have a real passion and heart for this ministry and the spiritual growth of the people they serve. This season’s leaders include: Will and Kitty Evans, Donna and John Fiella, Steve and Judy Piotter, Chuck and Geri Wilt, Barb and Norm Stein, Dick and Mary Kay Schroeter, and Pastor Blair and Kimberley Clark.

If you have an interest in learning more about our small group ministry either as a participant or as a facilitator:

Come, and experience for yourself why small groups provide the best-of- the-best we have to offer in ministry and care at Trinity Lutheran Church!

Scrappy Quilters

The Scrappy Quilters is a small group of ladies who meet or work from home to create quilts, walker bags, hope pillow covers, crib sheets, dog and cat beds, burp cloths, bibs, and knit hats.

We distribute the items we create to veteran’s hospitals, veterinary clinics, animal shelters, Alpha Center for Women, Give Kids The World Village, Infant and Toddler Pantry, and children of the Ocala National forest to name a few. We also gift our creations to members of our own congregation who are in need of the comfort a quilt or walker bag will bring.

Besides the items we make, we also have an ingathering of Christmas stocking fillers for the children of the Ocala forest.

The need is great but the workers few. We could use a hand with sewing, cutting, pressing, pinning, organizing, quilt tying, distributing, planning quilt tops, and prayer.

Donate:
We would love donations of the following: fabric, sheets, pillowcases, curtains, basically, any fabric that is in good condition, Thread and notions. Drop off your donations in the bin in the church narthex or the church office.

Meets every Friday noon to 3:00 p.m. in meeting room 1 in the Fellowship Hall.
